I currently have 1X9 on my hardtail, im more than happy with it, can climb well with the gears i have.

I’ve just purchased my first full suss frame, just trying to weigh up whether i’ll need to go 2X9 now.

The 1X9 on the hardtail is fine because on climbs i can get out the saddle, wind down and lock out the forks, then go for it. Will a susser make this too much work? It’s a commencal meta 55 if that helps.

I know sussers prefer the sit and spin technique, how many people out there cope just fine mashing the cranks uphil on their susser?

No doubt it’s just something i have to try though. Trying either way will cost due to incompatibility issues on parts i currently have.

    Cheers.

I guess it depends on you! I went from 34×34 on a Dialled alpine to the same gearing on a pitch pro, it has made no difference to me.
