Which is the best! Who’s the daddy of dinner table domesticity? The true king of kitchen cupboard clutterence?

In a bid to shoot the STW goose, I’m going to start niche. Seeing as I’ve just discovered it, and yet in the space of a fortnight seem to have become physically dependent on it….

with something like a tasty lancs cheese it is teeth waveringly amazing!!!

your personal favourites please? Fight! Fight! Fight!

gotta be Heinz Tomato Ketchup or Hellmans Mayo, depending on the dish it’s accompanying. I might also allow HP Barbecue sauce

Yesterday I saw a man in Asda with what looked like a pretty ordinary trolley of shopping on the conveyor belt apart from six extra large squeezy bottles of HP sauce.

I spent most of the evening wondering why he would need so much.

I’ve recently discovered Dry Garlic Pickle. It has the consistency of freeze dried instant coffee, but my word it’s delicious, especially on anything involving melted cheese…

    Two different things, man!

    Dinner table?
    Salt and pepper, obviously.
Kitchen cupboard, Lea & Perrins or DEATH!

Good point flashy!! And a strong contender! If only for its marriage-made-in-heaven relationship with toasted cheese

I made a corned beef hash the other night after leaving the corned beef soaking in Lea & Perrins and mustard. Get your cook to give it a go! You could invite some friends round for a novelty working class evening 😉

deluded – our kid got us some of that for christmas. I’ve not tried it yet. Whats the best thing to do with it?

    Heinz burger sauce.

Makes the burger into nothing more than a device for the conveyance of said sauce to tha gob. Smashing.

    binners,

The Rib Man range of sauces are so strong you could patent them to treat male pattern baldness – it will put hairs on most things – not for wussies.

Just smash it on anything meaty in a bun.

Our local sandwich shop used to warn people that the picallili would urn their urine fluorescent yellow for a few hours. This resulted in an increase in picallili sales for a number of weeks. God only knows what was in it, but the results were spectacular.

Sea salt/preciously harvested chili/pure relish blah blah blah.

There is only one. The original and still the best.

Lee and f****** Perrins? You’ve got to be kidding me? Its a poor southern shandy drinking aproximation of Hendersons. Only acceptable if you run out of Hendersons inbetwen trips back to Gods own back yard.

There was always Hendo’s on the table when I was in digs in Sheffield. Brilliant on meat n tatie pie.

At home it was this one (courtesy of German mum). Great in soups:

I have both in the cupboard – with the Maldon Salt of course.

+3 for Hendersons Relish. My mother is from Sheffield and got me hooked on it at an early age. Hard to get hold of though. Never seen it in a supermarket. Arrives via relatives when they visit. Where can you buy it?

Hot smoked paprika on anything egg, especially scrambled. When in Bulgaria I used a grinder with a mix of salt, pepper, dried chilli flakes and what I think was a mix of cumin and paprika powder, maybe something else. Absolutely the best thing I’ve sprinkled over anything.

    In no particular order

    Heinz salad cream
    Worcestershire sauce
    Frenchs Mustard
    Guinness HP
    Sweet Chilli

Hendersons? Pfffh, it’s ok but can’t even compare to the king that is Worcestershire
