Been using the tag a lot this week on a fairly hefty road trip around France. The tag was about 6 years old and was becoming unreliable on the fast tag lanes. Turns out the internal battery can get worn out. Stopped at an APRR service area and they swapped it for a new one for free in about 5 mins.

For those who say it isn’t necessary at this time of year then you’re talking nonsense. It has saved us about 2 hours of queues in the last fortnight.

Nonsense 🙂 . Depends on your journey. Just driven to Metz, then to Morzine. Driving on the last 3 Saturdays. Longest queue was 4 cars. About 2000km of toll roads and about 5mins of queueing total. Not really worth 40 Euros to me. Ymmv.

Agree with nickjb – drove Dieppe to Frejus Tunnel (and into Italy) and back in July, barely any toll queueing. It totally depends on your journey.
