off to the Alps this weekend and was thinking about wether or not it would be worth buying a cheap mobile from a French supermarket to use rather than rack up the silly charges that 02 will probably hit me with.
Has anyone else done it before?

Last time I was over there I just used the phone cards you can buy all over and costs next to nowt to call uk from the call boxes

Yeah I had a french orange sim when I was out there for a season, easy to do, but only cheap for contacting people in country.

you could just turn your phone off.

As people said just use the phone booth if it's very important it's much cheaper

Get a Vodafone uk PAYG sim and get Vodafone Passport. 75p connection then uk rates. 🙂
