Merino too?
O.K., I'll say it... this was done a few years ago; I think a final design was done too, but despite much excitement at the time it never made it into production. Mind you, that was back in the day before the mag went all freeride...
I'm sure someone with a better memory than me will be along with all the details before too long. IIRC its non-appearance was the subject of tongue-in-cheek comment on here for quite some time
I'm interested, I'd want an idea on how it would look first though
There's an ad in the back of issue 61. I fancy the LS one because it looks like Captain America top.
Why not and can we have them in I know I'm too big to be a cyclist sizes to please! ie xl/xxl!!
Mr Wilson- fair point on the fabulous stretchificatory (if it isn't already a word, it is now) properties of lycra. I wasn't being entirely serious so no probs. It's true though that those of us toward the less aerodynamically able end of the whippet/ biffer scale sometimes don't wish to broadcast our silhouettes in unseemly detail. Hey ho.
full length zip, no pockets on the back/zip, dont want a v neck though want it a bit higher for when its nippy, and 3/4 of short sleeves, can t we have a design comp?
I'd deffo like one
3/4 Sleeves (for occasional pad friendliness) and I'd get one.
Just to buck the trend in a S (no XL or XXL's here thanks)!
Add me in L or XL - don't understand skinny fit! Not white
Deffo not 3-4 sleeve !!!
What do you wear if/when you have elbow pads on though? Normal SS tops only come down half way down my bicep giving a nice embarrassing gap above the pad.
Or do 'FR' style short sleeves come up a bit longer?
Long Sleeve, Black, with a Zip
(Also with an angry looking rabbit and pink writing?
?
Long sleeve, merino wool, stw roundel logo embroidered in red on the left shoulder and blue on the right. Oh in large please!!
I'm currently unsure as to a roll neck version....
Those baggy, v-necked, sack-like jerseys are one of the things I really hate about mountainbiking.
MrNutt: Oh in large please!!
Have you been on the pies???

As long as it has rear pockets and is an XC cut, sign me up.
I'd be much more likely to buy a mincecore light jersey for bloaters than a roadie jersey for anorexics.
I'm anticipating the winter spread
Gosh, so many replies! Thank you all for responding.
My biggest bugbear with cycle clothing is cheap looking fabric that doesn't actually wick, and costs a fortune. So ...
[badlywireddog to the Forum please, assistance needed!]
SO STW is this possible?
I'd be up for one. My normal riding jerseys are the race face and sombrio looser fit ones that look more like normal t-shirts. The proper freeride/dh ones I've got are too heavy for normal riding. I think you either have one or the other and if you must have space for pads, buy the next size up.
i normaly wear skintight lurid lycra for riding................
but i suppose i could go for a loser, figure hiding shirt......
My fav shirt is an endura burner with three quarter sleeves. Something like that.
Put me down for any sort of MTB appropriate attire.
Tony - the obvious one liner is killing me but I'll try to keep it to myself
Lol @ ton, man-sized for you then?
I have e-mailed Chipps and mentioned that many of the people I have ridden with are not of whippet build. Hell, we like our beer and pub stops are part of the ride.
Will they be flouncy ?
Cos I dont do flouncy.
And no pleats.
I'm in if they're not flouncy or pleated.
do both short or long, 3/4 sleeve is for really short arms
:)
One of my favourite cycling shirts that I own is my singletrack special reserve jersey. Fits perfectly, looks great and has lasted a long time with only a bit of fraying. One like that please.
This sounded like a good idea but I think it could end up giving STW/mtbing a bad image. The big, baggy freeride top with 3/4 length sleeves doesnt sound cool. Give this to a man wearing elbow pads, mincing round a trail centre and you've created a monster.
Its got to look sleek and fast, some sort of close fitting lycra top would be best, shortish sleeves and a zipped collar. Perhaps some pockets at the back you could store stuff in, so you dont have to take a camels back with you.
lmao. personally, a cotton tee shirt and baggies for me
But you've got the skills to match the freeride look!
The younger downhill/freeride generation will probably be seething at the fact the xc mincers have nicked their 'look'. I dont want to be a part of it so i'll stick with lycra jerseys.
