my kids can trash a cd in 5 minutes so I’m genuinely backing up – FWIW 😐

so, an exact copy I guess, on a cd-r – that’ll play in a cd ghetto blaster

    iTunes?

Import as AIFF (original uncompressed CD file format), then bung tracks in a playlist and burn CD.

    Easy peasy!

Don’t import as MP3 as then you’re compressing the files, losing data, and compromising the quality.

I’ve copied backed up loads of CDs this way. Never had an issue.

Don’t scrimp on blank CDs though. Cheap ones can go wrong after a while.

Windows Media player? Rip to MP3 (or WMA) and then Burn to CD audio. You don’t need any additional software.
