I’m having an Orange 5 built up at the moment & am toying with having the bike wrapped to protect the frame rather than messing with help tape, lizard skins etc. Any thoughts on how effective this is….will it stop heel skuff on the swing arm or do you really need lizard skin/or other…. I ride 2-3 times / week in a gritty wet Peak – trails & XC. Thoughts appreciated.

Assuming you mean biketarts black tape – it’s just self amalagamating tape. Like this much cheaper version:

Works well and lasts ages and keeps the chain noise down. Not the prettiest though.

There’s also a company that does it in different colours: cant remember the name.

I presume you’re talking about heat-shrink vinyl? It’s not very robust, scuffs very easily. Then you’d get water ingress behind the wrap and it’d make a right old mess of your paint, plus potential corrosion issues.

Stop faffing, ride the bloody thing and get it mucky and scuffed! That’s what they’re made for! 😀
