Finally finished the build of the Surly 1×1 frame I bought recently from a bike shop's ebay shop and took it for its maiden ride. Great bike, really pleased, but had to hose it down after a very muddy ride, and the frame decals on the downtube have washed off completely (using a garden hosepipe, no detergent)- it looks like they were new and applied prior to selling so can only assume that they weren't put on properly or something.

The frame was advertised as good condition – and it is generally – have emailed the seller to ask whether they can provide replacement decals, which I don't think is unreasonable and which hopefully they will do.

Assuming I can get a set of replacements, what can I do to make sure they stay put next time?

An alcohol wipe to get rid of any grease on the areas the stickers go on, that's about it I think.

Take a look at slikgraphics.com – they seem to be able to produce anything you want…..
