So I’m looking at getting a chromoly specialized p2 frame blasted as the paint is showing it’s age. I really like the industrial look of raw frames like the raw stanton slackline but I’ve seen a lot of warnings online about something like this. Is there a best way of getting a clearcoat applied or isn’t it worth it etc? Just FYI I’m totally uninitiated in the world of paint so couldn’t tell you anything about the current paint apart from that it’s stock from Spesh. Cheers

Also, I’d need to have it painted somewhere as I only have a room in a flat with no real garden. It’s only a mess around bike so ideally the cheaper the better to a point.

Talk to a good powdercoater – I get my frames done in a clear finish quite often, never had a problem with them. I use ESP in Glasgow.

I’ve just had an OnOne stove enamelled by Vernon Barker, cost about the same as powder coating. It will cost you more than the frame is worth so not cost effective. Still worth it IME
