a polish girl at work asked me why its called mince, I didnt know the answer, anyone? I know its got beef suet in it, but you wouldnt call it mince because of that would you?

Mince pies today contain a mixture of fruits & spices, back in the medieval period this fruit & spice mixture was combined with various cooked meats to make a rich, spicy and savoury pie.
My medieval group still cooks to these recipes when we do shows and it always goes down a treat - especially Great Pie!

I think there should be an official "Mince off", several timed sessions where the combatants have a "Mince Round"...
The winner being awarded the accolate of "The Screaming Mincer", or some such term, ...
