In my search for the perfect size five, I have managed to grab a few rides on other 140mmish travel bikes. Rode a Foxy r around Afan yesterday.Any good? Read on.

At 5 10″ the medium felt a perfect fit. The ride started off with a ziz zag climb, thus is where the foxy excels, it really felt like riding a cx hardtail. Never thought about using pro pedal.
The the flat and downs the bike feels low and slack, very stable.
Of course this means the bike is hard to manual and hop about, it is also a little reluctant to change direction.
If you want to add up the miles and not play around check it out.
Evans are selling the large for £1300, bargaintastic.

I owned one for a while and rode it quite a lot.

    Very true.

it is also a little reluctant to change direction.

I think you have to ride them different to other bikes, I thought (and still do) it was the best cornering bike I’ve ever ridden – but you have to carve the turns (steer with your body, I suppose I mean) and then it feels like it’s glued to the ground thanks to the v low BB.

    Did you decide against then?

I really wanted to like it, ride something different to the crowd.
But the Five is outstanding when descending. It brings out my loony side.
Like the Dixon, but lots of bearings and pricy.
    Went for the Five.

What size Five did you go for? I’m 5’10 and went for a 17″ and find it perfect, love it. Even better now i’ve got the rear shock to behave, read my post in this thread if you have any issues with it bottoming at correct sag.

    Thanks for the link stevede.
I went for the 16″. I want it to be really chuckable.
