help if possible please.

have a fox float r rear shock with propedal circa 2003/04
the propedal lever had broken off flush with the shock.i cannot find this part available any more.
i have made up a new lever via a 5mm s/s wing nut and drilled and tapped it in to the remaining part.
the question is the part that was in the shock has a flat on it ,i.e a circle with a flat bottom. what part of this cam should be engaged to activate the pro pedal should the flat be level at the bottom or should the curve be at the bottom,? . sorry no time to go out a ride as junior is in bed and im on duty. thanks in advance al
