Is it possible to replace a damaged (dented and deeply scratched) stanchion on a 2008 Fox F-Series 32 RL fork? Where in the UK would I be able to get this done, any good LBS or would it have to go back to Fox themselves? Is it a DIY job for somebody handy?

    Cheers!

They are not available indivdually – you have to replace the whole Crowns/steerer/stanchion assembly.

If you can service a fork yourself, and are happy removing and re-installing circlips then it’s a relatively easy couple of hour job.

if not, leave it to any of the fork servicing places.

Be warned, it’s not that cheap. Doing it yourself, you need to buy the CSU – mine for a ’08 TALAS was £125ish + post – that’s about where they start, price wise.

Getting someone to do it it that cost + service & postage.

Thanks for quick replies, I’ll give Loco a shout for the lowdown. Not serviced forks before so best leave it to the pros I think.

    Cheers!
