Trying to get a bike trailer specced. Manufacturer has queried the distance between bikes in case the fork legs over-lap. Currently they suggest 8″, which is wider than my Lyriks or the manitou things on my mate’s DH bike, but not by much. Anyone get any idea how wide a set of Fox 40’s are? (Guessing they’re about the widest fork on the market).

Looking for the width across the fork legs at the widest point.

at first I was trying to work out why the fork width mattered for a tag-along trailer..

wouldn’t pedal / crank spacing by just as important?

i think youd have more difficulties with the back end as DH bikes tend to be rather wide. Not to mention pedals and bars ;0)

Back ends is a fair point but pedals/bars fit by putting each bike opposite ways around. Cranks then sit in the gaps and as long as there is a little sideawys location movement in the bikes then bars will fit overlapping slightly.
