My 36s have developed a rattle in the damper side, any clues?

Im gonna strip them and take a look this afternoon, found a nice step by step guide online to follow so hoping its easy enough.

The guides recommend using some Fox Green 10wt and some Fox Red 10wt. Anyone know if there are any real differences between these oils?
As I have 5wt and 15wt oil, should i mix my own 10wt or am i likely to do some permanent damage.

Any bargain deals on 160mm 1.5″ forks for when i find something expensive, snapped, in the damper side?

If you’re lucky the cartridge will just have come apart, if unlucky the threads will be trashed.

We destroyed one set in the Alps this year and and another pair came apart internally, but were field repairable. Worst forks that Fox make IMHO. I’m now on Lyrics.

    They’ll be fine with 15Wt I reckon.

    cheers marko,

so far the amount of oil that fell out of the bottom of the damper side is worryingly low!
