Is the track open from Monday? I could justify the long trip if I could watch Sunday and ride Monday, that would make an excellent weekend.

Yes, the world cup downhill track reopens on Monday, probably about midday. Depends on how long it takes to clear it up.
The red route downhill is usually open from Monday morning, so you could have a run on that beforehand.

The access roads only get you as high as the big road gap. Any further than that and it’s boggy marsh. I’d get the gondola tickets. It’s great to get to the top then walk down trackside as the riders go down.
