My bro has Formula The One brakes and has a unique ability to break almost everything on his bike (including 2 titanium Blur LT link pins, but thats another issue). The brakes were playing up so he sent them back to the distributor who have said the pistons are worn and they need replacing.

Now, here's the crunch. They have quoted £150 to carry out the service and replace the pistons, and that's per wheel?!!! You can get new 2010 ones in CRC for £180 a wheel.

Anyway, the point is has anyone successfully serviced and replaced the pistons in these brakes before? Is it something that can be done at home or will he have to sell a kidney?

Cant you sell a child or something before a kidney?

Not done these particular brakes but having a quick look at the exploded diagram, I don't see anything odd about these brakes that would stop a bit of DIY.
