I have a 2012 Fox 36 Float R fork and according to the Fox website I need a 10wt Red oil and a 10wt Green oil. Can anyone shed some light on the difference and/or what other brands are worth using?

Also is there any way to add some kid of spacer to them like with a Float rear shock? I’ve heard of some people adding a bit of oil reduce volume, will this make any difference?

I need to buy some 10 wt oil as all I appear to have in the workshop is 20 wt, would this bu**er them up if I used that instead?

Any help would be useful ta

According to Teh Internets the 10W red is silkolene and the 10W green is torco. The Silkolene’s pretty easy to find in motorbike shops, Torco not so much, I got a bottle off ebay.

As far as weights- you don’t want to put 20W in a damper made for 10W, it might be OK as a bath oil. But I don’t know that fork inside so wouldn’t want to comment past that.
