  • Fork Brake Caliper Mounting Question?

Hi there, after a fruitless search I'm sure the fountain of all knowledge that is STW can help me.

I have a 1999 Marzocchi Bomber Z-4 that came on a Rocky Mountain, and I have finally got round to installing disc brakes.

The IS bracket for the Avid J5 front brake seems from my research to be the IS 51 size. However when I offered it up to the fork, the supplied bolts are too fat for the mount, and also too close togethere.

I have measured that gap between the mounting holes, it seems to be 49mm c/c

So the question is what mounting bracket do I need to fit the brake for a 180mm rotor?

    Thanks in advance

Some older forks had this mount. Dunno about adaptors I'm afraid.

OK, so I'm measuring properly. The question now becomes are adaptors still available???

    c'mon gang 🙂
