You’d probably struggle to do that in a Mondeo – Focus definitely not

I can get a long bike (Pitch) with both wheels off and the parcel shelf moved in but it ruins the rear mech as that tends to get squashed up.

If your only doing it once to get the bike home with the kids in the car then that will be fine but I wouldn’t recommend doing it all the time. If your near Sutton Coldfield you can borrow my rack.

So thats a resounding no for the focus!

Thanks for the input guys….looks like I’m going to have to dig deep into the five furlong and come up with another motor. (which is a bit of a bugger because I only want the car for 12 month.)

Get a mondeo estate if you only want it a year then there should be plenty of cheap ones that are plenty good enough. I have seen 2 bikes with both wheels on swallowed by a mondeo estate with the seats down.

You will. My Canyon AM will fit in the boot of my Mondeo MK3 but both wheels need to come off, or for the back seats to be dropped. Even then my bars (745mm) only just fit when I have the talas forks wound down. I’d be surprised if it’d fit in any hatch/salon boot without both wheels off though.

well in that case it doesn’t do what the OP wants then does it? 🙄

I reckon I could get a bike in the Mondeo with both wheels attached, if I were to drop the 2/3 seat and leave the other 1/3 up (so taking two passengers).

    Seriously, roof rack? http://www.roofbox.co.uk/

Ok, this is what you do.
Lift up rear seat, remove front wheel, turn handlebars round so they face backwards. Wheel bike rear wheel first through passenger rear door slam door put rear wheel in boot and off you go.
Works in just about any car where the rear seat lifts up.
