I can’t imagine being able to hate him more.

So for a STW Meltdown Blair or Cameron?

What about bring back Thatcher? (Might be useful with Argentina sounding off)

Thatcher regularly voted as second best PM, responsible for keeping the Merkins inline, and instrumental in bringing down the Berlin Wall and ending the Cold War. And of course seeing off the Argies.

Blair responsible for licking US butt (by this time an outlaw country refusing to recognise the UN World Court and it’s convictions under them) and dragging us into illegal wars which have been lining his pockets ever since. Deserving of the death penalty, which is still the punishment for Treason in the this country I believe.

    Edit:

    Cameron a complete tool.

    1) you believe wrong, the death penalty isn’t on the books anymore.
    2) “When a Man doth compass or imagine the Death of our Lord the King, or of our Lady his Queen or of their eldest Son and Heir; or if a Man do violate the King’s Companion, or the King’s eldest Daughter unmarried, or the Wife the King’s eldest Son and Heir; or if a Man do levy War against our Lord the King in his Realm, or be adherent to the King’s Enemies in his Realm, giving to them Aid and Comfort in the Realm” So unless he boffed Dianna he’s innocent of treason.

    Nice rewrite of History

thatcher is probably the worst PM of the modern era. The damage her policies did is still with us today and may never be healed.

Blair whilst being a lying shit who became corrupted by power his early governments were responsible for much good – although how much of that was down to him is debatable.

    Devolution
    Minimum wage
    Tax credits
investment in public services especially NHS

Yes I was going to ask who it was that voted her into “second best” place? The EDL perhaps or maybe BNP/UKIP?

Anyhow. I can’t imagine for a second Mr A Blair attempting anything as ridiculous as trying to take the Labour Party leadership – the man is loathed and surely unelectable now. Unpopular with the unions, with the left, with the famed “middle ground”. However, I reckon the Cons are daft enough to try with him (they even tried with Michael Howard!), and the politics line up neatly, surely….?

Perhaps reading an academic survey, such as that undertaken by WoodNewton @ University of Leeds may help provide you with the answer. clickety

It’s a survey of 100 leading political academics in the UK – I, for one, will admit that they may have a slightly better informed view than me.

B.Liar’s failures are legion and leave a long lasting global effect, the fallout from which we are experiencing now.

I know this will probably have me damned as a right winger, I’m not, I have no real political allegiance. They are almost all self serving, liars with dubious morals and very flexible standards.

But IMO one thing we don’t need is that duplicitous b*****d anywhere near government. (however, we are probably safe while Wallace is leading the Labour Party)

Thatcher is a vile and wretched woman and equally as deserving of a place on my ever expanding set of public gallows.

complete piece of meaningless nonsense if yu even glance at it.

176 UK-based academics were invited to take part in the survey
–The academics were selected by Professor Kevin Theakston (University of Leeds) based on their specialism of British political science or British history post-1945
–The survey was conducted online and administered by Woodnewton Associates
–The questionnaire was designed by Theakston and Gill (Woodnewton Associates) building on a previous survey of 20thcentury Prime Ministers conducted by the authors in 2004
    –Fieldwork conducted between 9th June 2010 –10th July 2010
    –Response rate = 60% (106 completed)

Is the only survey worth reading by TJ Associates? Maybe one by Unite or something like that 😉

Rember the gospel (oops not the most appropriate choice of word):

Heath/Wilson/Callaghan = social and economic nirvana
    Thatcher = the opposite
Major = under the radar screen and disqualified for liaison with Currie and underpants
Blair/Brown/CMD = tarred with same brush

Now can we get back to riding bikes?

(have to agree with TJ – that survey was sanctioned by an Uni? What do people say about current academic standards?)

One person selected the sample. No controlling for political bias

Also no real evidence it is slanted either way. If one person is selecting the survey group they can be well placed to include and equal number of extremeists/moderates from across the spectrum.

    Subjective questions

It’s quite a subjective thing really – as proven in here

    No weighting of answers

    What would you weight for?

It would be good to apply some correlation to the data to see how much agreement and disagreement there was between the individual replies. Though I reckon the Politics guys just don’t like the maths and stats guys….

The outcomes seem to take neither side in any great way.

Well I’m glad you said “probably”. Because if Thatcher was bad then Blair could only have been worse than her, as he not only supported and refused to reverse all the things which according to you made her such a bad PM, but in fact built on them, introducing privatisation into areas which she could only have fantasized of, and involving Britain in as many wars as he possibly could, whilst committing Britain to new levels of slavish subservience to an extreme right-wing republican US president.

Tony Blair was the worse PM Britain has ever had. A truly vile, disgusting, egotistic, and self-serving man. And I feel constantly frustrated that I lack sufficient command of the English language to do proper justice in expressing the utter contempt I feel for him. I’m sure that words must exist but I always feel those that I use fall disappointingly short.

I would rather have a candle-lit dinner with Margret Thatcher, than piss on Tony Blair if he was on fire.

    TandemJeremy

Ernie – the interesting thing as you pointed out is of course one person is not responsible for everything a government does.

However the Blair governments did do much good as above – altho I suspect despite him not because of him.

He is hated and vilified by the left perhaps at least in part because of the great opportunity squandered. We expect to be shafted by the tories, we do hope not to be shafted by labour.

The damage the Thatcher governments did is still far greater than the damage of the Blair governments. The deliberate creation of mass unemployment with the social ills that created

To go back to the OP

Bliar has been casting around for something to do with himself. I really very much doubt he will be given any influence in the Labour party again.

I suspect this is all his desperate attention seeking / need to justify himeself
