Anyone know where they filmed the reveal of the car? Looked like a very early Panavia Tornado under wraps in the hangar.

Two ugly cars AM made, this and the lagonda. The tv programme made a lovely job of this one though.

“reveal” was at Brunters (Bruntingthope, ex Mil Airbase).

Hopefully they didn’t follow the camera car too closely, the main “runway” surface is really loose now and you get stonechipped to **** if you follow another car!

(also, £150k for a (non original) DBS is ridiculous, they just rely on being ” on telly” to help the bidding)

Never fond of this one, nor the Oscar India after. Bloated and ugly; the lightness of the DB cars in both looks and handling was lost.
Astonished at the price it achieved.

It’s a car of it’s time. However it looked great – the ox blood leather worked beautifully. Be interesting to see what the Transit makes. My old man has one the same in his shed. Long nose but he stuck a Perkins diesel in it in the ’70’s.

Agreed. Hideous lump from a company renowned for otherwise beautiful cars. Before and after.

Oh, and Aston “muscle” cars are all ace! Too much romanticism about DB5s and the like! People waffling about Bond, when any fule kno he drove a Bentley.

Give me some grrrrr any day!

Then again, I do have a soft spot for these two;

was excited when I realised this was back on but that was a bit lame.
throw a load of cash at a problem and you’re bound to end up with something that’s perfect.
and not enough engineering, too much Aston heritage and archive stuff for me. I wanted to see more of what RS Williams did with the engine and welding the collander body panels back together.

Yup, more actual work on the car would be good.

It’s often the case that these shows get dumbed down a bit to appeal to a wider audience.

It looked great when done though. They do a proper job. Just wish we saw more of the work being done.

I thought it looked great! My favourite so far has been the Escort Mexico though, I want one!

6,000 man-hours! They must have made a loss of about £200,000 on that car.

Yes there’s no way they only had £87500 in that !,they had about 8 blokes on that team earlier in the programme,& that ally body work is a specialist trade !,good watching tho ..
