Bike Park Wales is full for a trip in late November so what do you reckon? FoD or Cwmcarn for a day of uplifting fun?

Bear in mind that my brother is coming. He learnt to mountain bike in Whistler a few weeks ago so is a bit of a newbie.

cwmcarn is a longer rockier, steeper track but holds up much better if its raining and the uplifts a lot slower

but if he learnt in whistler he cant be that bad

    on balance probably FOD

FOD – shorter tracks but more variety.

The weather is a factor and I know Cwmcarn holds up quite well in the wet as I’ve been there in the pouring rain before.

Not too sure about the FoD on this score.

FFS it appears that there is no uplift at Cwmcarn on the Friday.

On a different note, for XC and a days riding, is Cwmcarn worth a visit over FoD?

I’ve only ever done the Cwmcarn XC.

i’d rather pi55 in my own eyes than ride cwmcarns XC loop, the climb is horrible and quite tough then the reward is the most boring featureless descent of any trail centre I’ve ever visited, why not just pedal a few runs at BPW? the way the uplift is a reasonably fit rider can get in just as many runs as an uplifted one.

If that was aimed at me, I don’t have a bike I would like to pedal uphill that much.

+1 for the cwncarn uplift being incredibly slow
