I'm booked, along with 13 others, onto a flight out to the Costa Blanca this weekend for some training in the sun.

I'm nervous about Monarch's bike policy. You cannot pay in advance or book your bike. You pay £35 each way at the airport.

Has anybody got any experience of this? I've read the odd horror story of being charged for the return on the way out and then being hit for excess baggage charges on the way back. Frankly I don't mind this so much but I am seriously worried at the prospect of 14 guys standing at a check-in desk and being told there's no room for the bikes on the outbound flight. Holiday ruined and our combined expenditure on two villas, four hire-cars and 28 flights is all down the pan.

Of course we'll get there well early and each clutching our £70 but I'd love some reassurance that all will be well.
