I’ve decided on my long-distance training route – up and down the A24 from Leatherhead to Worthing. 76.6 miles…

Don’t.

It’s a nasty trunk road up and down the county, with a fair few cycling accidents.
Much nicer back country routes in a similar direction to choose from.

A24 = avoid. As DrP said, it’s a road people regularly do 80mph on the dual carriageway bits and there’s far nicer roads running parallel to it.
