I’ve got a 160mm centrelock XT disc on my back wheel. If I lock the brake I can rock the wheel backwards and forwards a bit and the slack is between the disc and the central mounting part, the bit rivetted to the disc, as if the rivets are loose. Is this a problem or are they supposed to do that?

(one of my mates has one the same . . .)

My hopes did this, spoke to hope about it. They slowly wear at the rivots. Basically its a judgement call as to when you think they need to be replaced, mine had 2.5 years hard use. So not to bothered I had to replace it. To be fare to Hope had they been newer they would have replaced it.

this is normal on all floating rotors that is what the floating piece is for.

Just that they’re not described as floating rotors. That’s why I asked – if they are then that’s fine.
