No, not a question of exasperation. More a query – can hydraulic disc brake levers be swopped from one side to the other? Or will this leave them upside- down and not working. I need a right hand shimano decent quality lever, but I don’t know if I can use a left hand one or not… Anyone any thoughts? (Or even got one for sale?!)

There are some levers that can be used either way up (M575 is the Shimano one). You can’t flip levers that are not designed to be flipped though.

Does anyone know which ones can and can’t be swopped?

look at them – if they clearly have an ‘up’ due to the reservoir design then they’ll be one way only.
