Depends.

Chartered flights need to fill as many seats as they can before take-off. So if they get £1 for a seat they are ahead. This is where the stories of cheap flights come from. Holiday companies who’ve chartered planes used to (or maybe still do) sell of any spare seats at rock bottom prices.

Scheduled flights don’t work like this.

I think you have to talk to Thomas Cook etc.

I don’t think it’s quite the same nowadays though. I looked into it a while ago and it was pretty difficult if not impossible.

Pretty much, me and a mate just fancy getting away somewhere cheap for a few days, stay in cheap hostel etc, proper student cheap-skate jobby 🙂
