  • Flickering TV screen during playback from PS4

Anybody else getting this? Never used to be the case but last few weeks it happnes every time we use iplayer or Netflix.

Looked at some of the online help suggestions re changing video output options but they don’t work. Its during actual playback rather than the black screen flicker that gets mentioned a lot.

    Any solutions out there?

    Thanks

Had similar issues on Apple TV , turned out to be a crap HDMI cable, swapped it out and not had an issue since

Defo try a different HDMI cable, and give it a wiggle to see if you can induce flickering.

Often the ports go after a few years and become a bit unstable. However a PS4 is relatively new.

Is your Internet connection up to whatever it is you’re streaming?

You’ve played with the settings, so u may have tried already, but…

There is a setting called something like motion plus on Samsung TVs, probably equivalent of it on other makes. We had picture judder when I watched netflix. The forums advised switching this setting off. It worked for us.

Have you tried blinking less frequently?

Have you tried blinking less frequently?

Or try and synchronize your blink with the flicker on the TV so you don’t notice it.

Tried the blinking – it worked!! Thanks. But for a longer term fix I’ll swap out the cable and see. Thing is the flickering appears to relent after a period of time – anywhere between 5 mins and 20 mins. Have a feeling its something other than the cable…
