Mrs greasystain is kindly making me some Flapjacks for an all day ride tomorrow. What goodies do you recommend in the mix?

    so is mrs julian!
Rolled oats seem to stick together better, also apricot pumpkin seeds and chocolate goes down well here. Some raisins/sultanas we get seem to be less dried than others; the juicier the better imho.

Soak the raisins in orange juice overnight, plumps them up.

We use a great recipe with rolled oats, chopped apricots & hazelnuts and dark chocolate. Seems to be a good mix & tastes fab.

They sound great – Seems Apricot is a winner.

Mrs G has gone her own way though – looks like I’ve got 2 varieties:

    1) Coconut, Chocolate and Cherry

    2) Ginger, Banana and Chocolate

    NICE 🙂

It seems she has a recipe that involves no oven cooking. cool..

what a load of fuss. missus hart does the best traditional flapjack i’ve ever tasted. oats, butter, sugar and golden syrup. a whole load of love, even more if the kids are mixing and then cook.

There was a good recipe for bannana flapjack in Singletrack a few years back (would have to look through the back issues). I made a whole tin full and was impressed. Didn’t last long though!

Whats the matter with you lot, can’t you cook yourselves or do you have to have a woman do it for you? Actually I am only jealous, my wife would never go in the kitchen if it wasn’t the way to the toilet. No its all right ,I am safe , she thinks this is a little boys forum and would never look at it!
