  • Fixing Shimano shifter?

Hello, my right shifter (Shimano Deore) has stopped returning after being pressed.. seems like a spring has snapped inside. The shifter still works but I have to manually pull the lever back into position for each gear change. Is there any hope of fixing this? If not.. anyone have a good 9 speed shifter for sale?!

    Cheers

Before you take anything apart, check that the brake lever’s not pressing against the shifter body, as this can cause the levers to stick.

Does the cable need cleaning or replacing?

If its getting old they often get gummed up inside
It can be as easy as squirting in loads of wd40 etc

Or take the cover off and have a look inside its not very often that they fail or somthing snaps
