mine snapped off at the root, anyone know if this is a ball ache to fix?

I'd just replace it. Should be straightforward enough. Probably dont have to remove steering wheel to get at it.

Not that it was the same car but I had this happen to me and it was dead easy to simply swap in a new one. Couple of screws and the wires plugged together.
