Asked about the 5.10 marvels on here a while back and nobody had tried them. Anyway, with 57% off on CRC i decided there wasnt a lot to loose as my Impacts are past saving.

Got them today. Car park test was excellent. Not quite as gippy as Impacts (smaller contact patch) but still far better than Solomon, Merrel, Nike ACG etc that i have used in the past. Still the Stealth rubber tackyness that i love from the Impacts. They look a lot better in the flesh, similar to Solomons.

Need a proper ride now (Thursday) and will report back after that but so far:

Pros over Impacts:
Mesh uppers – far better to dry out and less sweaty in summer.
Good hard toe protector.
Shed water ingress far better.
Much lighter.
Better for walking (long day rides in the Lakes usually involve a bit of climbing and pushing).
Look FAR less "special".
CHEAP!!!

Cons:
Slightly less grip on pedal but very minimal in car park test.
