So my (200 mm x 57 mm) Cane Creek seems burst again and it’ll be well over a week before its returned from service.

So in the mean time will anything horrendous happen if I fit in a (190 mm x 50 mm) shock that’s kicking about? Bit of slackening out due to 10 mm shorter (but compensated by higher pressure due to shorter stroke) and just less travel?

Anything wrong with that to keep me rolling??

Fit and check the extremes of travel with no air in just incase anything fowls. If nothing collides and no cables pull through the frame all will be fine.

Yup, that. Your thinking’s spot on, you just need to make sure you’ll not have hard parts collide but it’s not likely unless it’s seriously tight as standard. I’ve had a couple of bikes that worked better with a shorter shock!

Thanks both. I was pretty sure but nice to have some validation 🙂
