Try some different drops? They're not all the same.

tbh, ton the only time I use the drops on my road bike is on long descents where I want to tuck in a bit – the rest of the time I ride on the hoods (or, if it's a really long hill and no-one's lookign, the flat bit by the stem).

    +1 to what wwaswas said.

Don't Salsa do some drops that are wider than most?

Er, rather than buying two road bikes, both with drop bars, do you not think you should have bought two flat barred road bikes?

Anyway, though you are quite used to riding flat bars, drops will soon become comfortable and give you a variety of hand positions. I have to say that I now find flat bars cumbersome and uncomfortable..!

nitto moustache bars will do it, and they're pretty wide, with a good range of hand positions.
