What did he expect to see in a working harbour? Wild fish fingers and breaded scampis?

    Buffoon.

    Don’t mock the poor guy!

Face it, wouldn’t you like the country more if farmers spent more time cleaning up after their cows! As it is, fields are just dirty and smelly…

    wot, no puns ?

Doubt he’d have gone to the papers at all if he’d haddock kipper round the ear from the harbourmaster in the first plaice

Maybe the harbour isn’t the plaice for him to take his children, he cod taken them to the beach. It’s amazing that he kept carping on, even going to the local press!

I think it was a little unsporting of the paper to name the tourist. OK, he was probably being a bit unreasonable but now everyone’s going to make a mackerel of him.

Pun-wise, this thread could still do with a little…

    …doesn’t Mr. Copp have a sole?…

    …no wonder Infracombe’s tourism economy is floundering…

    …what utter pollocks…

    That kind of thing.

he’s kind of got a point though, fresh fish should have no smell and should not be attracting flies

fresh fish should have no smell

Fresh fish smell and every harbour I’ve been to has carried that fish smell.

To think of the complaint letters I could have fired off!

Betta off not complaining, camo, people will just make sharky comments about you.

Of course it does – it is just washed and prepared fresh fish that shouldn’t smell, should be glossy and the flesh not slimy to the touch.

Eel be sorry he ever went there in the first plaice – eel probably cast his net further afield next time

I’m surprised he had the audaceity to broach the subject in the first plaice.

I think he deserves to have a spike driven into his behind before he becomes a dab hand at this sort of thing. I bet his children are all chubby and his wife’s an old trout or a hussy who put him up to this.

    I hake townies!

Bloody grockles. Still, could have been worse, he could have parked his car on a slipway then complained when the tide came in and drowned it. Like the ‘tards at Burnham, Berrow and Brean.
I really hope his name gets around and small children point at him in the street and laugh.
