    The Hurricane pilots outnumbered the Spit’s 20-1 and flew in all weathers, 24hrs a day.
    The also took out far more enemy planes than the Spit’s ever did.

    That’s not quite correct – total Hurricane production numbered 14,583 while Spitfires for the RAF alone accounted for 20,351 aircraft. During the Battle of Britain, Hurricane pilots accounted for 1,593 out of the 2,739 claimed victories.

    That all said, top effort from Neville there!

    91 yo and 800 hours and he still asks “All this for me? I was just a baker’s boy….”. Like I said cast from a different mould.
