Just checking ive got this correct.

From my understanding, my first mortgage payment will be like this –

    Complete 17th january
I’ve scheduled payments for the 17th of every month

First payment should be on 17th february

First payment will be februarys mortgage payment + interest 17th to the 31st january.

    Sound right?

    Sounds correct.

But why not ask your mortgage company ?

We completed on the around the 18th of the month, payment being made at the end (28th) and I expected our first payment to be 1 month + 10 days, but we only paid the monthly payment.

yes that is correct. Normally within a week of your mortgage completing your mortgage company will write to you with ‘congrats on being in debt for the next 25/35/40 years, your first payment will be £XX and will be taken on XX’

it was month 2 before they took payment From me And we dont appear to have been charged extra interest for thst month other thn being charged slightly more interest the next month due to not having paid any ( even the miniscule amount) capital off the previous month

Speak no evil see no evil . I assume as cock up on their part a nice surprise on mine 🙂

Only your mortgage agreement / contract will give the correct answer – no-one else on here has seen it.
