I have been given the Firefly series and Serenity.
Should I watch the series first ,then Serenity,or does it not matter which order you see them?

    Thanks

    Series first, then film.

Yup, makes more sense if you watch the series first.

Definitely series first, then film. The film will spoil the series!

    As above.

I don’t think it matters, some elements of the film don’t make sense following on from the series, and vice versa.

    It absolutely matters, series first.

Series first, absolutely. The film ties up various loose ends. Joss made the series with the intention of it running to a second. The film gave him the opportunity to finish things more neatly than the sudden end of the series had allowed.
I always love the bar fight scene where River kicks a bloke in the back of the head, after he grabs her from behind…

It didn’t tie up the preachers back story… That would have been interesting I reckon (I see there’s a book you can get..hohum)

Series then film. Lots of bits in the film make more sense that way.

I watched the film, which was OK, but lost interest in the series after a few episodes.

Series then film. Also, watch the series in episode order.

Also, watch the series in episode order.

[geek mode]Is that broadcast order or episode order?[/geek mode]

I thought someone might say that, but decided to leave the joke in regardless 😆

    did you know….

in Battlestar Galactica, the scene where Laura Roslyn gets her cancer diagnosis, when the camera pans up to the rooflight there’s a Firefly class ship coming into land

    Series first

    Are you on crack?

Series first. Unless you like spoiling things for yourself.
