  • Films you've not seen.

Yes, I’ve watched Star Wars loads of times, but a grand daughter and a sense of curiosity means I’m about try The Lion King.
    🙂

Saw The Wizard of Oz for the first time a few years ago, loved it.
No idea how I managed to avoid it for 45 years.

Only saw ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ last year too and I keep finding the odd Hitchcock I’ve missed.

Bit of a film buff, but still not managed to watch Gone With The Wind.

I imagine my inner 10 year old would love them, but I always seem to be working when they reshow the Fast and the Furious films, so I’ve not caught those either.

    You lot?

    Blues Brothers. I’m told it’s a classic?

Any of the Godfathers. Really CBA with Hollywood’s Mafia fascination.

    Lots and lots and lots.
Take any list of a hundred top films you should see before you die, I’ve probably only seen ten.

Fast and Furious 2-7 as the first was bad enough.

Avatar – in 3D or otherwise. From all I’ve read and seen of it, including a 3D trailer, I’m pretty glad I’ve not seen it.

Star Trek reboot films. As a bit of a Trek fan I just can’t bring myself to watch them. They seem to be everything opposite of what Star Trek was always about, plus I have no interest in a bunch of kids pretending to be the original cast.

Hobbit parts 2 & 3. Big fan of the book and LOTR book and films. Hobbit part 1 bored me with the battle stuff that doesn’t exist in the book and parts 2 & 3 seem to be more of the same.

Kill Bill part 2. I’ve got it, just can’t be bothered to watch it. Was bored with part 1. Used to be such a huge Tarantino fan too. Not watch anything of his after KB.

Likewise, big Scorsese fan back to Mean Streets, but gave up after Casino and especially when DiCaprio became his lead guy.

That said I’ve given up a lot on modern films anyway. Not much interests me now to spend a couple of hours on when I’ve got other things to do, and so much of it is remake, reboot and just plain garbage.

I’ve only seen 5 of the post 1990 Oscar winners, and 7 pre-1990… And that also includes titanic 😀

Probably ought to watch more – I finally got round to seeing Casablanca a few years ago and enjoyed it.

To the people who haven’t seen Godfather: what are you waiting for? Excellent films!

And deadkenny, the first reboot Star Trek film is great fun, not a dull copy or the cast pretending to be the first lot. Well worth it.

Avatar, any of the hobbits (although I have seen all 3 lotr), any of the Oceans… franchise (either original or modern), Anchorman, the three Star Wars prequels (I’ve seen the originals and the current one), Trainspotting, Godfather 2 & 3.
I’ve seen either seven or eight of the Oscar list since 1990. Can’t remember if I’ve seen Braveheart or not. Seen 14 of the pre 1990.

None of the Star Wars follow-ups, prequels, whatever they are. (except the last one which i hated)
None of the Lord of the Rings – cant stand the books, so no desire to see the films.

    Blues Brothers. I’m told it’s a classic?

    No, its pretty naff actually.

Only seen 9 of those best pictures, and quite a few of those I’ve only sort of half-watched at xmas or whatever.

Never seen any of the Terminators, any Godfathers, anything in 3D, got a lot of gaps with the important, less mainstream stuff too, never seen Fight Club for example. Can’t be arsed with the cinema nowadays, feels expensive for what you get, and you have to sit through 1/2 hour of annoying loud adverts before you even see the film. Last thing I saw was that latest Star Wars effort which was ok, but I only went cos the missus made me go.

Since becoming a dad I have developed a near encyclopaedic knowledge of the likes of Pixar and Dreamworks though (which is fine, I always preferred cartoons anyway).

    I have never seen ET

Now, I have seen ET. It was a bit boring.

BIG films I’ve not seen (some deliberately, some just not got round to) that spring immediately to mind.

    Any of the Godfathers.
    Titanic.
    Gone with the Wind.
    Apocalypse Now.
    Schindler’s List.
    ET.
    Raging Bull.
    Taxi Driver.

As a sometime Media Studies teacher, this ought to embarrass me, but I’d much rather watch films for enjoyment rather than because I feel I ought to.

I was forced to sit through this before Christmas, and got it’s awful. And I’m a fan of animated films!

Deliverance and The Wicker Man are two that spring to mind; I’m sure there’s more. Not deliberate avoidance. Watched Scarface only recently.
    Oh, and Goodfellas.

I quite like soul music. I think that’s partly why I find a film with 2 chubby white Americans who aren’t very funny a bit naff.
