Has anyone done this? Has anyone got any advice?

I have a 2013 Trek 1.2, which I really like, and I’ve seen a really cheap 105 drivetrain which I’m thinking of getting before the Shimano price hike.

I got the idea from this guy:

Easy. Just got a mate with a lathe to take about 1.5 mm off. Left enough to stop the cassette from sliding into the spokes. Steel Hope freehub.

    before the Shimano price hike

Already happened in places. 105 at Ribble has gone from £284.99 to £399.99 in the past week 😯

Is it still easy if you don’t have a mate with a lathe? 🙂
