I like that I can still be amazed at what is on the Internet.

A good one of these is a fine lunch on a Wintery day.

I’m now quite excited as I’ve just realised its the 3rd Saturday of the month, which means it the Farmers Market in our town and http://orchardpigs.co.uk/index.php/tractor-wheel-pies.html have a stand 😀
Stilton topped ones being my fave

We also have the sister in law staying with her family & they all like beer & pies.
So despite my birthday being yesterday & a bit of a non event I’m declaring Saturday as my birthday, might need to do a long ride on Sunday to burn off the massive calorie intake.

@bearnessecities You have missed off the onion rings soaked in vinegar, although I guess the mint sauce goes some way to providing the acid hit.

I had heard that the nurses in the local clinic were really nice, so thought if I caught something it’d be a great way to get to know them.

I am not sure there is a best pie – but todays favorite is the blueberry currently sitting in front of me.

The Chicken and Tarragon is epic, the Steak simply outstanding!
Not one single pie from The Ginger Pig has EVER oozed its contents onto the plate – there simply isn’t room for anything else in there!
You only have to pick one up to understand just HOW MUCH filling they manage to cram inside the incredible pastry……..

Inspired by this thread (and even though it’s warm and sunny) I’m making chicken and ham pie for tea 🙂

    Savoury – steak and ale

    Sweet – cherry

I could never choose between them though, all pies are great!!

Haggis Pie at the Spylaw Tavern up the road from my house. A proper pie, in proper pastry with proper chips and gravy.

My fave pie is very simple.

Corned beef and potato mushed up in a shortcrust pastry.

Cornish pasties are what I was told, but far from any other Cornish pasty I’ve seen.

    Awesome with bisto gravy though.

    😀

I’m very fond of a steak pie from Cottage Pie, Dearham.& their slab.
Higgidy pies used to do a chicken & tarragon pie which was lovely.
They stopped making them though , the swines.
However ,the ultimate pie & greatly missed , is my Nana’s apple pie.
    🙁

Good shout. Unlike other pies (ignoring Stoner’s ridiculous pie-stance) good apple pie has to be homemade.
