It may be the latest fad, but I quite like the sound of a fat bike, but would like to demo one first.

Does anyone know if / where it is possible to take one out for a demo ride?

    Thanks

There is a Charge Cooker Maxi available for hire on the west side of the New Forest in Hampshire.

Where are you based, there’s plenty of fatties about and I’m sure someone would let you have a wee go to try one out.

We have a Krampus and will be putting together a Caribou and probably another Surly at some point too – anything in particular you were looking to try?

    Here’s a few:

Charlie the Bike Monger in Swanage (Surly/Salsa)
    Keep Pedalling in Manchester
Tim at Sideways Cycles, Alsager (9zero7)
Wayne at EDS bikes, N Yorks (Surly/Salsa)
All Terrain Cycles in Saltaire W Yorks to name a few.

    Where about’s are you?

For a perfect fat bike test ride I’d suggest some coastal singletrack and beach trails, like North Berwick, so give Dave at Law Cycles a shout 🙂

FWIW, just like any other style of bike, not all fatbikes are the same. So, don’t expect a demo on one model to tell you all there is to know about fatbikes.

Ghyllside cycles in Ambleside had a Krampus and Puglsey when I was on holiday last week. Make a weekend of it, enjoy the trails and the local beers.

For any store you’d be safer to give them a call to make a booking if your traveling a distance.

kinda true, any of them will tell you though wether you like/want a 4″ tyre, heavier bike which in the right places is fun to ride or not 🙂
Buy the cider and i can tke you out, 5″, reg 4″, and best for everywhere away from soft sand 29+ 🙂
