Looking for a fast rolling 2.2-2.25, tubeless ready and relatively low weight tyre to match a Hans Hanmpf 2.35 upfront.

Generally will be used in loose/rocky wet/dry conditions with no mud for trail duties.

Crossmark 2.25 LUST seems good…but at 950gms seems a bit on the heavy side.

Would dropping to 2.1 drastically reduce grip in the conditions I mention?

    Cheers

Racing Ralph or Furious Fred, depending how extreme you want to take fast rolling and light weight…

My current summer option for the rear – may well break it out this week 😆 – is a Crossmark EXO in 2.1″ in 62a compound.

Fast rolling, quite light and the EXO sidewalls stand up well to the rocks in the Peak District.

The Crossmark is fairly big for a 2.1; the carcass is almost the same as the Ignitor 2.35.

A part-worn 2.25 CrossMark gets my vote for trail riding works very well in a wide variety of conditions and remarkably drag-free.

If you want to stay with Schwalbe a 2.25 Rocket Ron makes a sensational dry weather rear – light, fast & grippy but with a lifetime measured in hours
