We are in Combs for the weekend and I’ve not been round that part of the Peak for a few years now.

Any recommendations for fussy/family dining in pubs and cafes up round there? I know there a couple of pubs in/near the village itself

    Cheers

Aye, Beehive in Combs is a nice pub, as is the Old Hall in Whitehough, nice beer garden here too if you’re in for lunch/afternoon session…

    Whaley:
The Cock does great pub grub
Casa di Pizza is a really nice family run restaurant and the food is great

Zayka is on another level, it is high end Asian cuisine at sensible prices. The food is stunning.

Both of those get my recommendation too, though I can’t imagine the beer gardens are seeing much use today…

Drum and Monkey, Chapel Road, is a good real ale pub

Number 6 The Square in Buxton good for lunch, teas, excellent cakes

    And Zayka- Oh YES!

Beehive was excellent yesterday, as was the Hanging Gate today.

Everything else currently being washed into the rivers, but thankfully not our tent.

    Yet.

We shall explore more options tomorrow in the remake of Water world.

If you want a cheap and cheerful Brewers fayre there’s the Fallow Deer at the top of the Chapel bypass (A6 dual carriageway)
