    Hello,

Dealer says I need to arrange insurance for a test drive over the weekend. My friend reckon’s it’s dealers responsibility.

    Any experience?

    Cheers!

Your probably only covered by their insurance while they are with you.

I’d be listening the the dealer to be honest.

This +1. Lots of dealers only insure vehicles if you have one of their team with you. Why should it be their responsibility to insure you while you drive their van for the weekend? Don’t forget that some council tips need a permit when you drive up in a commercial vehicle 😉

You may be covered 3rd party on your own existing policy. That should be enough to be legal. Would be expensive if you have an accident, though

Great. Thanks for the points of view. Will have a look into my own policy.

    Cheers!
