For a 1×10 setup on an alloy freehub.

Expander OK or get an 11-40 cassette?

    Experiences?

The price and great quality of Sunrace cassettes stopped me getting expanders.

    Brilliant cassettes.

Same, my LBS recommended Sunrace so I went with it. Seems great quality, but can’t speak for durability as I’ve only had it about 2-3 months. Great range I find 11-40 (they also do 11-42) with a 30T on the front. With an expander you will have larger jumps between sprockets. Cheaper but if you can find a good price on a Sunrace not by much.
