is there a code which will track how many times a cell has been chaged on a excel spreadsheet?

for instance if cell a1 has a date in in and that has been modified by some one 4 times in the spreadsheets life is there a way to put in a formula to show how many times that has been changed?

Not directly that I know of but you can run a macro when a cell changes and then use that to count up

I’ve not personally used it in Excel, but I use it frequently in Word. One warning: the information is available to all users, and can be easily deleted. If you really want to control versions etc. I’d be looking at some kind of document repository (like Alfresco, for example).

Edit: now had a play. Seems to be what you asked for!
