I have two excel worksheets both with c850000 lines. They should be exactly the same but they are not.

Is there a quick way of matching tHe two.

My first attempt was to use a vlookup, but the information I have to compare is in different places, so I have a total of 8 places on each sheet to look at. This is making the lookup a tad slow!!!

    Any ideas?

    Export to CSV.
Run them through examdiff (or something similar)

are they structurally identical but have different data?

if so can you not bring them side by side in one sheet and use conditional format to highlight variation in content?

structurally similar, but for some reason the two reports have located details in different places.

Ie, list of ten items in the same column but in different rows, except in this case the column and the row varies, oh and there are 850000 lines.

I have a forumla which i think has found the differences but it isn’t very quick. The slowness might just be the quantity of information

flip a coin, then copy and paste one over the other. Bingo. Both the same.
