Anyone know what happened to Scott Laughland? Looks like he completed stage 1 in decent order then dropped out.

(I like it when he does well at things, we get announcements in our office news like “Student receives funding award” “New carbon capture scheme approved” “Graduate rides bike like a mofo”)

Scotty broke his collarbone on stage one, his dad was in the same start group as me.

Ah, that’s no good 🙁 He got a pretty good time for a man with a bust collarbone though!

Any update on the guy that got helicoptered off the hill on Saturday. I saw him getting put on the spineboard at the feed station. He was conscious and moving his legs so hopefully he’s ok.

According to what I heard from one of the tweed valley mountain rescue guys on Sunday, I believe he walked out of hospital on Saturday evening – severe bruising only, lucky guy!

I don’t know what happened to the guy that came off head first into a tree about 100 yards from the end of stage 8 on Sunday, he did not make pretty noises, nor look healthy. When he was stretchered off, he was moving his hands and feet though.

(I never get good crash photos. when I see someone crashing I instinctively stop taking pics to mkae sure they’re ok. I need to be a bit more heartless sometimes 😈 )
